City Of Lakes '76
|Title:||City Of Lakes '76|
|Recording Type:||Live Soundboard Recording|
|Location:||Minneapolis / Minnesota, Metropolitan Sports Center|
|Date:||October 17 - 1976, Evening Show|
|Notes:||Tracks 22 and 23 are recorded on November 30, 1976,
The October tour in 1976 wasn't by far the best of Elvis, but it showed that he made a step in the right direction. His physical appearance had much improved since summer when he probably looked his worst ever. Much more important was that the quality of his concerts also changed for the better. During the tour in fall '76 he gave some good shows with some strong versions.
Unfortunately the original release from FTD 'A Minnesota Moment" left a lot to be desired.
It sounded flat, muffled, lifeless and very hissy. The sound quality was disappointing as was the 'artwork' which showed on top an outrageous bad done photoshop job with Elvis' left hand.
The VERVE team did everything to improve the overall sound and as a result you'll get to hear a soundboard recording that should have sounded this good in the first place. Now you can hear the show for the first time in the best possible soundquality. Hopefully you can enjoy the concert now as much as we do while reading and flipping the sixteen pages of the booklet.
|Sound Sample:||Steamroller Baby
|Concert:||Elvis isn`t as committed as he was in many other shows of this tour, At times he seems tired and desinterested. Anyway the concert is better than most of the previous summer tour.|
