Note on back cover: This collectors release presents all of the master takes Elvis Presley made between July 1953 and November 1955 at the Memphis Recording Service (now commonly known as Sun Studio), prior to his signing to RCA-Victor.
This essential set also contains 4 bonus tracks, consisting of live and radio recordings from that same period. These seminal and remastered gems are widely regarded as the building blocks of Elvis Presley's career and among the greatest recordings in rock & roll history. That's when the legend of the King was forged: the chuming velocily of "Mystery Rain", the rambunctious "Just Because" and "Blue Moos of Kentucky"; the frenzied, pregnant vocal in "Milkcow Blues Boogie"; the hiccupped "Baby Let's Play House"; the rapturous, guivering luminosity of "Blue Moos."

You can practically hear John Lennon teaching himself to sing along to "Good Rockin' Tonight" and "Trying to Get To You". These 27 tracks are indispensable.
They feature Bill Black's galloping heartbeat bass rhythms, Scotty Moore's infectious guitar pyrotechnics (he plays rhythm and lead simultaneously like no one else), and Sam Phillips' unique, slap-back echo production.
