Announcement:   When Elvis played Vegas in August of 1973, one could think the man was already bored and gave a lot of "throwaway" concerts. Well, he didn't. At least not at the show the newly founded team of Panther Records has chosen for their first release.

August 28, 1973 is the date and we are talking about the Midnight Show of that day. This is only the second release of this show on CD, 34 years after its first release in 1992. Since then a much better source has been found (Soundboard Recording!) and therefore you can expect a significantly better sound, and finally speed-corrected!

This new CD brings you a sound quality you will be satisfied with. It is close to the ideal art of audience recording, which many fans prefer over dry and lifeless soundboard recordings.

Enjoy this show with its loose nature, as Elvis is trying out "My Boy" before he would ultimately record it in the studio in December of '73. For whatever reason he was having a hard time pulling himself together for this version resulting in a hilarious segment including an impromptu version of the old gospel tune "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", which he knew from his childhood days in Tupelo, where he sang it together with his parents and the entire community at every church service.
