Announcement: To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley's final
performance in Lake Tahoe, the respected ReelTrax label proudly presents The
Final Show Lake Tahoe, a deluxe 2-CD set featuring the complete concert recorded
on May 9, 1976, at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel in Lake Tahoe.
Widely regarded as one of the most unusual and entertaining concerts of Elvis'
career, this nearly two-hour performance captures Elvis in a relaxed, humorous,
and highly talkative mood. Throughout the evening he sings, jokes, shares
stories, and delivers one of the longest live performances he ever gave.
Originally released on CD in 1993 in incomplete form, the concert later appeared
in a more complete edition in 2008. For this new ReelTrax release, the recording
has been carefully remastered using modern audio technology, revealing musical
details and atmosphere never heard so clearly before.
Highlights include a rare impromptu performance of Return To Sender, the
seldom-heard Young And Beautiful, an emotional rendition of The First Time Ever
I Saw Your Face dedicated to Linda Thompson, and Elvis' hilarious story about
the famous boot scene from the movie Blue Hawaii.
This deluxe 2-CD edition is an essential addition for collectors and fans of
Elvis' live performances from the mid-1970s.
