Issued in a cardboard gatefold - no jewel case ! The correct date for this show is August 24, 1969
MS. Not August 23, 1969 DS !
Sample Sound:
Runaway
Concert:
A powerhouse performance by Elvis - his nervousness from returning to live concerts is definitely worn off, as his confidence is awe inspiring. Probably one of the BEST concert
CD's ever released (official or bootleg) ! The "Life Story Monologue" was told by Elvis on stage in his early 1969 shows. This monologue runs an amazing 7:59 on this disc and is insightful and funny ! Not many shows were opened with "Blue Suede Shoes" ! Elvis plays guitar on "Baby , What You Want Me To Do". "Hound Dog" and "What'd I Say" were given the powerhouse treatment in Elvis' 1969 shows , and these renditions are standouts. "Suspicious Minds" clocks in over 7 minutes ! Great versions of "Johnny B. Goode" and "Runaway" ! "Words" wasn't performed much after the 1969 shows , and is a remarkable song when sung by Elvis. The middle of "Suspicious Minds" is spliced into a tape from August 3 - 1969 Dinner show used for the
CD "Opening Night 1969" . The last 2 songs are also from this bootleg release.
