Issued in 1997 by BMG Europe to promote the Platinum A Life In Music 4CD box set release.
This 12 track promo CD is presented in a fold-out digipak. The front cover depicts the box set cover with a silver stripe on each side of the picture. At the bottom of the front cover , a word “Sampler” is printed. The inside cover with a white background contains a brief synopsis of the “Platinum - A Life In Music” box set. The rear cover lists the songs included on the CD along with the recording data for each track. The back cover also includes a picture of Elvis wiping off his forehead as used on the cover of the box set’s booklet. It also states in capital letters : “For Promotional Use Only - Not For Sale”. The picture CD itself looks exactly the same as the first disc of the commercial box set. However , on the left side of the disc , it is printed “SAMPLER” instead of “CD” 1 as it is on the commercial disc.
